When I performed with Liav the Brahms Double concerto, I felt we could converse on highest musical level! Liav’s playing is all about honest musicianship, virtuosity and beautiful intense tone of his cello. I was inspired and deeply touched by Liav’s playing.

There are many young promising cellists today, the level of performance has become unprecedentedly high. However one could say that the essence of music making has changed over time and the level of technical performance has superseded the importance of musical expression. I have followed Liav Kerbel for many years and am happy to witness his complete devotion towards the quality of musicianship and technique as a whole, not sacrificing one for the other. I find Liav to be a young exceptional musician as well as having become a young promising cellist!
